Our Construction Is Over.

We have been talking about remodeling our livingroom for awhile. There was a leak in the upstairs bathroom at some point that when who ever fixed it did a poor job of patching it, and we were tired of no light in the livingroom. So Dad, Kendrick and Dalyn moved everything but the piano and coach (which got tarped) out then down came the celling. (lots of dust)

and up went a new one with a place for a light. While the new one was going up we chose the paint and Kendrick couldn't wait to paint, but mud had to go up first. Brad did a wonderful job of putting it up then, Kendrick and Dad sanded (more dust)

Then we got to paint Kendrick did the primer and Mom and Dad finished. (no more dust)

We picked out a celling fan with light and put it up the night after we finished painting it looked so nice, then on to the carpet. Our carpet was stained and yucky so we chose new carpet and got it orderded, Dad and Kendrick ripped up the old and was suprised to find that the hardwood floors were still in good condition, but Mom and Dad like carpet better. Kendrick loved playing on the floors while everything was out of the room. Then the carpet came it's so nice and in the words of Kendrick's favorite charicter Curious George it is toe squish good.

Kendrick and Erin both love it.

October!

Holidays are here again!

We all had fun the end of August at the Garrett Family camp out. Kendrick had fun playing in the trees and down by the river. It was nice to get away for the weekend and enjoy being with the family.

In August we also went to our county fair Kendrick loved the petting zoo and a BIG BULL fell in love with Doug.

September has come and gone and we had some surprise visitors Dalyn came home from boot camp and is waiting to go to jump school sometime in October. And Grandpa and Grandma Hume came for a visit. We also we also went out to a Balloon Festival Labor Day weekend, It was too windy for the balloons but they played with the balloon burners. That was fun to watch and Kendrick even got to pull the cord to light the burner with Dad.

Kendrick is looking forward to Halloween and the Holidays. Mom bought him a pair of Skeleton PJ's that he loves, Erin got a cute Halloween outfit too. So Mom had to take pictures

We have started a project and in the next few weeks we will post the finished product should be very nice so stay tuned.

Summer Fun

Summer is almost over, my how time flies. We did a few fun things back in June because Doug was off work for about ten day after having surgery to fix a torn bicep tendon. He is healing fine and should be back to full strength by the end of this month. We went to the Utah History Museum, Kendrick really liked playing in the sand finding the bones in the Palaeontology area.

Then we went out to Golden Spike and saw the trains and a live action re-enactment of the events that took place. Everyone really liked watching the trains they were cool.

Kendrick turned four and had a Monkey Party he really likes Curious George. Kendrick got a new Bicycle and loves it.

We had fun on the Fourth of July, went to the parade the highlight for Kendrick was the Fire Trucks, we went to a BBQ at Grandma & Grandpa Butcher's and then went and saw the fire works put on by Kaysville City.

At the end of July we went to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple open house. It is very beautiful we liked the star shaped etching in the windows of the ordinance rooms and Kendrick loved the water and oxen (baptismal font.) Erin thought the whole thing was AAAAAH as she told us all the way through the tour.

We are looking forward to go down to Nephi Canyon for a 'Garrett Family Reunion' at the end of the month. We let you know how fun next time.

It has been a busy three months!

Mom and Dad getting use to taking care of two children, one big brother getting use to sharing his time with little sister. We have done quite a few things together as a family with mom being off work and Doug off on Tuesdays, it has been fun.

We went to the park, Kendrick rode his tractor all the way down and most of the way home, before dad had to pull him up the last little bit.

We went to the Living Planet Aquarium. Kendrick had ball on the boat the have set up to teach about the Great Salt Lake. His favorite part is when the boat backed away from the dock. He went back and forth between the stingray pool and the boat. Erin slept through most of it. Mom and Dad just enjoyed benign together and doing things.

ZOO FUN!

Kendrick loved watching the elephants and seeing all the other animals. It was nice for Mom and Dad we enjoyed watching Kendrick see the animals and his reaction to them. Again Erin slept through most of it, we did go on the train and that was fun. Kendrick love playing hid and go seek with Dad in the bat cave. It was a very fun day.

Dad finally got to fly his birthday kite. He got the kite to stay up for about 45 min. with two or three saves until it finally took a nose dive and he couldn't pull it out. We came home and made ice cream with blueberries and watched a movie.

We Blessed Erin on May 24, 2009 it was a very nice day. We had Grandpa's and Grandma's and enjoyed a trifle bar. With mom being creative and having a fruit garden for a center piece.

It has been a while!!

It has been an eventful few months, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Birthday's, and Erin's Birth.

Erin decided she wanted to come a little early, which was fine with Mom. March 15 2005 at 2:25pm she made her apperance weighing in at 7lb 6oz and 20" long. She gave us a little scare when her oxygen levels droped and she spent the night in the NIC unit. But by the next morning things had stablized and she was moved back to the Nursery and with Mom. Kendrick is very excited he had a big grin on his face when he finally got to see his baby sister. Everyone is adjusting at home, Kendrick is a big help. Here are some photo's of the last few months. Update on our Family!

The end of July we found out that we are expecting! All are doing well now. It was a rough go there for awhile, Mom was really sick, she finally got on home IV therapy which made all the difference and we are now on top of everything. She finished the IV the end of October and we have had one little scare with early contractions but that has stopped. We found out that ITS A GIRL her name will be Erin Mae.

Kendrick and Dad have been spending lots of time together and enjoying every minute. Kendrick is Daddy's little bud. Here are some great pictures from time spent at the children's museum and in the mountains.

It's a record I am doing two blogs in one month.

We went up Payson Canyon this last weekend for Our anniversary and Kendrick's birthday. It was nice and cool and fun to get away for the weekend. We had a few visitors the horny lizzard and the beautiful deer. Kendrick had a blast, we gave him one of his birthday present a little early so he could have fun with it.

He Played with it all weekend, and is still playing with it He loves it when you pull him arround and then he gets to zoom down the hills. Tractors are one of his favorite things.

As part of his birthday he wanted root beer floats, kind of fitting because one of the thing I craved just before he was born was root beer floats. Kendrick made the floats for us! He made more of a mess with the float than he did on his cake for his 1st birthday.

The lucky guy, he had two cakes one with Mom & Dad on his birthday and one with family the following day.

The other highlight of his birthday was the bike seat now he gets to go on rides with Mom and Dad. Kendrick like everything else everyone gave him, Thanks.

New Hair Cut

We have had adventure at our house the last little while, Kendrick is almost three and very independent. We love him very much but defiantly tries the patients some days.

But before that, Kendrick and Christie were able to go to Nephi to have a picnic with family, Doug had to work so he missed the fun. Grandma & Grandpa Garrett, Douglas, Karen and Kara, Nancy and Steve and Family, Dave and Diane along with David and Andrea's family and Jeremy and Becca's Family were all there we missed everyone else. The weather was nice and we had a ball.

Back to the trying our patintence..... Well Sunday Kendrick was playing with Daddy's electric razor, Dad puts the cover and he pretends to shave (just like Dad) well he found the trimer and decided to use it on his hair, need I say more...

Spring

Well, I think it's srping? Oh yeah we live in Utah, spring can mean 80 one day 40 the next day and snow. Like this past week, it has been a cool spring nice for us in a way Dad got to spend all of March with us getting home before 7pm and Mom didn't have homeowners asking for irrigation designs (she had enough commercial takeoff's to do.) Dad had another Birthday and Easter came early this year We had a great BBQ with Family. Here are some picture.

It is Febuary and well we didn't move. The home owners got another offer and we had had, only three people look at our place so we let them take the other offer. It just wasn't ment to be and we are glad we are staying put.

Every one is doing great, just after Christmas we got a membership to Discover Gateway (what use to be the Children's museum) and Kendrick is loving it.

Kendrick is becoming quite the independent almost three year old. He dresses himself, though he doesn't get things on right all the time. He is learning that the buttons on his pants go in front.

He is putting himself to bed now kind of like is Dad! Drop where you are!

Merry Christmas!

It's been awhile. We have been very busy getting our condo ready to sell. We have place an offer on a home in Layton, so if everything goes as planed we will be moving the end of January. Kendrick enjoyed Halloween this year, he thought it was great to knock on pepoles door, he was a cute bear thanks to Aunt Amy.

Thanksgiving was spent at my Mom's home and was very enjoyable. We decorated the Christmas Tree Thaksgiving evening Kendrick was in to it all. His favorite thing right now is playing out in the snow, just like his dad! We went and saw the lights at Hogle Zoo he loved it until his finger got too cold.

Well we are going to go out an play, hope you all have a wonderful Christmas. We all have much to be thankful for.

Kendrick finally got his 2nd Birthday pictures. A little late (September) but here are a few. He was cute but would not let go of Mom. To see the rest and get a hard copy you have to come visit. We did these as Target.

Hello family & friends,

We are creating this blog to share photos and what is going on in our lives.

This summer we took a week and went to Yellowstone. It was a lot of fun! We saw bears(black & grizzly), moose, fox(beside Christie), bison, elk, ground squirrel and lots of people. Kendrick enjoyed it all except maybe the drive up and home (too long in the torture chair.) Kendrick had a ball playing at Hebgen and Yellowstone Lakes, hiking rocks and making mud pies. We also went to the Jackson Hole Scottish festival on our way home. Saw some cool games. It's amazing to see how far some one can throw a 16lbs weight with a pitch fork behind them!
